FHM Mens Premier Team 2018

The Club’s Men’s 1st team play in the NRFL 1st Division.

The team is proudly supported by our main sponsors Fix and coached by former All White Clive Campbell and former NZ age grade representative, Sam Jasper. Together they bring a wealth of experience both as players and in particular with Clive, vast coaching experience.

Jasper was involved last season as a player and this will be his first major coaching role.

Clive Campbell brings a rich playing and coaching heritage having played for Blockhouse Bay in their 1970 league-cup double, switched to Mt Wellington in the mid-70s, became the first player to notch 200 national league appearances and was in the 1979 Mount team and the side that won the league-cup double the following year. He also made 17 A-International appearances for New Zealand between 1977 and 1981, scoring 5 times including 2 on his début against New Caledonia. He was part of the squad that qualified for the 1982 FIFA World Cup in Spain but was not included in the 23 man squad at the finals. He has vast coaching experience at both a junior and senior level most recently at Mt Wellington, North Shore and Takapuna and is hugely respected in footballing circles.

Sam Jasper brings a strong playing pedigree having represented New Zealand at U15, U16, U17 and U20 levels. He played in the A League with the NZ Knights and has played for a number of NZ Football Championship sides as well as a number of Auckland NRFL Clubs.

Sam and Clive are well known to each other with Clive having coached Sam previously at North Shore and when Sam was in the New Zealand U20 side.

One of the Club's up and coming young coaches, Nathan Cranney will also assist the coaching group, this year, as an Assistant Coach.

This season the team is driven by a core of young local players who bleed black and white and have played for the Club since Junior Football. That core has been added to with some quality young and experienced talent in order to provide quality and depth to both the First and Reserve teams.
