As part of FIFA’s new development initiatives, the Women’s Football Division offers a new educational programme targeting young female leaders: Captains of Today, Leaders of Tomorrow. The programme aims to gather the sixteen National Team captains participating in the France U-20 FIFA Women’s World Cup in August, as well as a promising referee from each Confederation.
The objective is to equip these young talents with additional skills to support them in their challenging roles as leaders on the pitch, but also educate them what possibilities lie ahead beyond their on-field careers.
The workshop lasts two days and will be organized during the FIFA Men’s World Cup in Russia on the 27th and 28th of June – travelling dates 26th and 29th.
New Zealand Football have nominated Women’s Premier player Malia Steinmetz as New Zealand’s representative for the workshop. This is a fantastic opportunity for Malia and further proof that the Club’s development programmes really do deliver results.
